Our Philosophy on Privacy
At DevOps Unlocked, we treat your personal data with the same respect and security we apply to high-stakes production systems. Our goal is to be transparent about the data we collect and to collect only what is necessary to provide our services and improve this site.
What Information We Collect and Why
We collect information in three primary ways:
1. Information You Voluntarily Provide:
- Scheduling a Consultation: When you book a meeting using our
Cal.comscheduling link, you provide your name, email address, and any information you submit in the intake form. We collect this solely to schedule the meeting and communicate with you about your inquiry. - Direct Email Inquiries: When you email us directly, we retain your email address and the contents of the message to respond to your inquiry.
This information is used exclusively for professional communication initiated by you. We will never use it for marketing mailing lists without your explicit consent.
2. Leaving Comments on Posts:
- When you leave comments on the site, we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also your IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
- An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
3. Information We Collect Automatically:
- Basic Website Analytics: We collect anonymous, aggregated data about visits to our site. This includes information like which pages are popular, the country of origin of visitors, and the type of device used. IP addresses are anonymized. We collect this data to understand how our site is used and to improve the content and user experience. We do not use this data to personally identify you.
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We only share it with the essential third-party services that enable our site’s functionality:
- Cal.com: To handle our meeting scheduling.
- Gravatar: To display profile pictures in comments.
- Google Analytics: To process our website analytics.
We have chosen these providers based on their own strong privacy and security standards.
Data Security and Retention
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access or disclosure. We retain the personal data you provide only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected (e.g., for the duration of a consulting engagement) or as required by law.
Your Rights
You have the right to request access to, or deletion of, your personal data. To make such a request, please contact us at the email address below.
